Terms of Service

Last updated: April 9, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Transparency. Transparency is a product for exploring company and job data, tracking applications, saving companies, managing profile information, using referral-related features, and buying or spending tokens for certain functionality. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility And Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or older if required by the laws where you live, to use Transparency.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials and activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current.
  • We may suspend or restrict access to protect the service, other users, or our business.

Using Transparency

Transparency gives users access to features such as:

  • company pages and job listings,
  • application tracking and status management,
  • saved companies and profile tools,
  • resume and profile uploads,
  • referral request workflows, and
  • employment verification and token-based actions.

We may add, remove, or change features at any time. Access to some features may depend on account status, verification status, token balance, or product availability.

Transparency is not your employer, recruiter, staffing agency, or career representative. We provide software and information tools, not hiring or placement services.

User Content And Uploads

You may submit content to Transparency, including profile information, resumes, referral requests, messages, and uploaded files. You retain your ownership of content you submit.

By submitting content, you grant Transparency a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and process that content as needed to operate, improve, and support the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload or share the content you provide and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.

We may remove, restrict, or refuse content that we believe violates these Terms, creates risk for users or the service, or is otherwise inappropriate for the product.

Applications And Transparency Data

  • Transparency provides job and company information for informational purposes only.
  • We do not guarantee that job listings are active, complete, accurate, or still available.
  • We do not guarantee any job interview, response, offer, or employment outcome.
  • Transparency scores, response metrics, and similar insights are estimates or summaries and may change over time.

Referrals And Verification

Transparency includes workflows for requesting referrals and, in some cases, participating in referral actions as a verified employee.

  • A referral request does not guarantee that anyone will refer you.
  • Submitting a referral request does not guarantee a response, interview, or offer.
  • If you use employment verification features, you must provide truthful and accurate work-email information.
  • If you submit referral proof or act on a referral request, you must do so honestly and only for genuine referral activity.
  • We may limit or disable referral activity to prevent abuse, spam, fraud, or misuse.

By using referral features, you authorize us to display and process the referral-related information you choose to submit as needed to operate that workflow, including sharing it with the relevant participants in the feature.

Tokens And Payments

Transparency may offer token packs or other paid features. Purchases are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe.

  • Prices, token pack sizes, and available paid features may change.
  • Except where required by law, required by payment-network or payment-provider rules, or expressly stated by us, purchased tokens and related fees are generally non-refundable.
  • Tokens may be granted, deducted, or restored according to product rules, including referral workflows and verification bonuses.
  • We may suspend token-related activity if we reasonably suspect abuse, fraud, chargebacks, or misuse.

Acceptable Use

You may not use Transparency to:

  • break the law or violate another person’s rights,
  • scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data without permission,
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation,
  • submit fraudulent application, referral, verification, or payment activity,
  • upload malicious code, interfere with the service, or try to bypass security controls,
  • use Transparency to build or operate a competing service using our content or systems.

We may investigate suspected misuse and cooperate with law enforcement or affected parties where appropriate.

Third-Party Services

Transparency relies on third-party services for authentication, hosting, analytics, storage, communications, payment processing, and certain data sources. Your use of those third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Beta Features

Some Transparency features are beta, early, or coming-soon features. They may be incomplete, may change or disappear at any time, and may not work as expected. We provide beta features on an “as is” basis.

Ownership And Intellectual Property

Transparency and its branding, software, layout, and other service materials are owned by Transparency or its licensors. These Terms do not give you any ownership rights in the service except the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms.

Disclaimers

Transparency is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or specific hiring or career outcomes.

Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transparency and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or $100 USD.

Suspension And Termination

We may suspend, limit, or terminate access to Transparency at any time if we believe it is reasonably necessary to protect the product, other users, legal compliance, or our business. You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that should survive by their nature will survive termination.

We may also remove access to specific features, content, referral workflows, or token functionality without terminating the entire account.

Changes, Governing Law, And Contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
