Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 9, 2026
Transparency helps job seekers understand hiring response patterns, track their own applications, explore company pages, save companies, manage profiles and resumes, request referrals, and verify employment for referral-related features. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.
Scope
This Policy applies to information Transparency processes through our website, authenticated product experiences, company pages, job pages, profile tools, referral features, and support channels. Third-party services that you use through or alongside Transparency, such as payment providers or sign-in providers, operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Information We Collect
- Account and identity information: email address, password hash for credential sign-in, and basic details returned by supported sign-in providers.
- Profile information: name, avatar, current company, current title, phone, LinkedIn URL, website URL, education details, work email, and employment verification status.
- Resume and uploaded file information: resume file links and labels, and referral-proof file metadata when those features are used.
- Applications data: jobs you click, save, confirm, archive, or track; application status; timestamps; and related job references.
- Favorites and usage signals: saved companies, job views, page views, and product interaction data.
- Referral data: referral requests, messages or pitches you submit, resume-related context, contact links you choose to include, referral status history, and proof uploads where used.
- Payments and token data: token balances, token grants, and payment-related metadata necessary to process token purchases. Transparency does not store full card numbers.
- Support and communications: contact form submissions, customer support messages, and verification emails we send.
- Technical and device data: browser, device, approximate usage diagnostics, IP-related service logs, and performance information.
How We Collect Information
- Directly from you when you create an account, edit your profile, upload files, or use referrals and applications features.
- Automatically when you browse Transparency, interact with pages, or use logged-in features.
- From authentication providers when you sign in with supported third-party login methods.
- From payment providers when you purchase token packs.
- From public and third-party job sources that power company and job listings.
How We Use Information
- To provide the product, including accounts, login, session management, and core application features.
- To power company pages, job listings, tracking tools, saved companies, and profile experiences.
- To operate referral workflows, including request submission, profile sharing within the feature, proof handling, and token accounting.
- To verify employment through work-email flows when a user chooses to use that feature.
- To process purchases, grant purchased tokens, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To analyze usage, improve product quality, debug errors, and monitor performance.
- To communicate with you about support, important account activity, verification codes, and material product notices.
- To enforce our Terms, protect users, and comply with legal obligations.
Referrals, Verification, And Tokens
Transparency includes referral-related features that let job seekers request referrals and let verified employees interact with certain referral workflows. When these features are used, we may process:
- profile details you choose to provide or attach to a referral request,
- your resume link and label,
- contact links such as LinkedIn or website URL,
- verification data related to work-email confirmation,
- referral proof uploads and related metadata, and
- token balances and token changes tied to referral actions.
Employment verification is used to confirm access to certain company-specific referral capabilities. Verification relies on matching a submitted work email to a company domain and validating a code sent to that work email.
Payments
Transparency uses Stripe to process token purchases. Payment card information is handled by Stripe, not stored directly by Transparency.
We may receive limited payment-related information needed to confirm a successful transaction and update your token balance, such as purchase amount, token pack metadata, payment intent identifiers, and the account email tied to the purchase.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the product, maintain account functionality, support referrals and applications history, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed. Some information may persist in backups or logs for a limited period.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. That said, no service can guarantee absolute security, and you use the internet at your own risk.
Your Choices And Rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, know, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, and to request equal treatment for exercising those rights.
- You can edit parts of your profile inside the product.
- You can remove certain information you have added, such as profile fields or favorites.
- You can request a copy of certain account data through available export functionality.
- Some deletion or correction requests may be limited where we need to retain information for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or core product recordkeeping.
- You can contact us to submit privacy requests, and we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on them.
International Transfers
Transparency and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Children’s Privacy
Transparency is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
Changes And Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as Transparency evolves. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
